Daughters of the American Revolution visit the Gruenewald House!

On August 26, 2020 the Daughters of the American Revolution visited the Gruenewald House to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Women’s Suffrage Movement!

The Gruenewald Historic House, 626 Main Street in Anderson, Indiana celebrated the 200 year anniversary of Madison County on the afternoon of Sunday, October 1, 2023 with an Open House and Garden Party. This 1923 re-enactment commemorated the “Centennial” of Madison County when the Gruenewald family lived in the House. Board members and other participants dressed in 1920s attire and live musical entertainment featured popular 1920s music. Free tickets were distributed for a short downtown ride on the Anderson Trolley. Visitors 21+ were invited to continue the celebration at the Cultured Urban Winery “Speakeasy” at 1013 Meridian Street in Anderson and were provided a “password” for entrance where Roaring ‘20s “beverages” were available for purchase. The celebration was a 1920s roaring good time!
